Position Description: Worship Leader

Job Summary:
Lead a young, growing, gospel-centered church plant in corporate worship. We are in the process of moving to a permanent location on the South-east side of Downtown Indy, in a heavily unchurched area called Fountain Square.
Church Overview
Redemption Hill Church in Indianapolis, Indiana was planted in October 2010. The church has grown organically from scratch to a solid core group and we are preparing to publically launch in the fall of 2014. We have seen God work in beautiful ways and we believe God has great plans in store for us as we move our church to a heavily unchurched area with great need in Fountain Square.
The primary desire of the church is to magnify the greatness of Christ by responding to the truth of the gospel. One key aspect of this response is through worship music. Redemption Hill is growing in need and desire and a part-time worship leader is needed to continue to lead us to the response of the Gospel through worship and mission. It is our desire for this position to be both musical and pastoral.
Position Overview
Work alongside the lead pastor to lead music for Sunday worship and other services. Worship encompasses all activity during the Sunday service, from the Call to Worship, to the benediction. Collaboration with the lead pastor is essential for creating a coherent,
compelling service in which God is worshiped with passion and excellence. Indeed, close collaboration in planning Sunday morning worship helps to provide examples of what vibrant worship can be in other worship contexts (e.g. worshiping at home with family,
worshiping in a small group context, etc.).
The Worship leader is to lead musicians to create excellent music for Sunday worship and other church services. The worship music at Redemption Hill Church is a blend of ancient and present-day hymns and songs, sung to both fresh and traditional tunes. We desire to create musical worship that reflects the God-centered redemptive story of God changing history.
Qualifications Minimum:
• Although the applicant may not necessarily become a Deacon at RHC, he must be a man of Christ-like character as noted in the qualifications for deacon in 1 Timothy 3:8 and Titus 1:7.
• Lead first in the spiritual disciplines of prayer and study and he must be a godly leader in the home who reflects the example of Christ loving His bride.
• Demonstrate musical skill
• History of strong church involvement
• Agreement with Doctrine of Redemption Hill Church
• Commitment to the theological vision, mission and worship convictions of Redemption Hill Church
• experience leading worship at a church
Beneficial
• Proficiency as multi-instrumentalist
Position Responsibilities
Music Team
• Lead the Music Ministry.
• Manage the music budget.
• Identify, develop and schedule musicians to participate in vocal and instrumental church music.
• Meet with and assess potential members of the team.
• Research new music (including original compositions, if so inclined).
• Organize and maintain both digital and printed music collections.
• Lead rehearsals.
• Shepherd and care for the members of the music ministry and other members in your community.
The Corporate Gathering
• Coordinate with the lead pastor as to the sermon (passage, themes, etc).
• Take ownership of the liturgy (set order, music, confession, Scripture reading, etc).
• Oversee the musicians and the singers for the Sunday service.
• Ensure worship slides are updated.
• Ensure the bulletin is updated with correct information.
The Scattering
Live life in community amongst the church (one anothering)
Lead a life of missional living, making disciples "as you go," and help integrate them into healthy members of the local church.
Special Services
• Plan and coordinate services for Prayer Services, Good Friday, Resurrection Sunday, and Christmas Eve etc…..
Musical Training and Development
• Continue to develop yourself and your team both theologically and musically (private practice, and instrumental/vocal program development).
Compensation Package
• Gross Salary Range= Negotiable (depending upon education and experience, $200/ week - $2000/ month)
• It is our desire to turn this position into a full-time position with benefits as the church continues to grow. There can also be training offered for fundraising if desired.
