Director of Teen Ministries/ Sr. Staff Level Full-Time Role

New Community Bible Fellowship is a growing 2700 member Bible teaching, non-denominational church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio seeking a full-time senior level staff member to provide leadership for their dynamic Teen (13-18 year olds) Ministry.

The vision for the culture of New Community’s Teen Ministry may be summarized as: A community of young people passionately pursuing Christ with a growing consistency; Young people who love and respect the Word of God and talk about the Bible among themselves;  Young people who are engaged in small groups shepherded by volunteer leaders or even led by other teens that are spiritually mature enough to lead;  Young people who are working to create their own unique fellowship for social and community life, beyond New community, they are doing life together; Young people who have a passion to honor Christ by serving others in the church, in the community and around the world.  To bring this God-Given vision to life will require a very special leader.

The vision for the leader of New Community’s Teen Ministry may be summarized as:  a leader with Biblical aptitude defined as not only a sound understanding of the Bible and doctrine, but the ability to teach those truths for life-change.  Seminary training is preferred. A leader who understands discipleship and is able to effectively research, implement and modify Christian Education systems to accomplish spiritual formation;  A leader who has the ability and conviction to lovingly counsel spontaneously and in sessions, both teens and parents, in a way that produces growth and life change; A leader who embodies a willingness to sacrifice himself for the betterment of those he serves; A leader who can shepherd in moments of struggle, adversity and even celebration; A leader who can implement all of the above first and foremost with his team of volunteer leaders who are recruited, engaged in the vision and trained to execute; A leader that draws people by igniting and encouraging them; A leader who is able to communicate God’s Word effectively to large groups of teens in a way that holds their attention and stirs them to live for God beyond the message.  This role reports to the Executive Director of Ministry.

Currently New Community enjoys a well-established Teen Ministry serving more than 125 teens weekly with a combination of small groups, their own unique worship service and special events. We believe God is calling the church to cast a greater net and engage teens citywide with an initial goal of more than 300 each week over the next 3 years.  The Director of Teen Ministry must therefore be able to connect with high schools and other relevant venues to engage teens beyond our four walls.  This is a critical role on New Community’s staff and requires an experienced spiritual leader with mature organizational savvy, energy, an engaging personality and an understanding of effective team dynamics.

About New Community Bible Fellowship

New Community Bible Fellowship (NCBF) is a non-denominational, Bible teaching, Christ-centered church located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.  We strive to live out what we believe are the six key purposes of a healthy church: 1) to disciple members in understanding and living the Bible, 2) to be a people of prayer, 3) to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth, 4) to be a witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world, 5) to serve according to our Spiritual gifts, and 6) to love and encourage one another in the Body of Christ.  As a church we are committed to developing each of our members into fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.  We are a small group driven ministry- thus striving to see every member involved in a small group within the church.  New Community is a church plant, started 20 years ago in 1994 by our Sr. Pastor Kevin James.  Our membership is currently at 2760 and we offer two identical services each Sunday morning.  We have strong programs for both children and adults.  Our average attendance on Sunday mornings is 1300 to 1500 between our two services and other educational and children’s ministries being conducted. 

We have over 50 active ministries, which allow every member to find a place to serve in the church.  We are a predominately African-American church with a small amount of racial diversity.  Our worship style is contemporary gospel.  Our ministry has already transcended beyond local to a regional level and it is our goal to grow into a world-class church ministry for the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We hope to accomplish our ever-expanding vision by passionately and urgently living out our purposes of helping lost people come to Jesus, helping saved people live for Jesus and helping hurting people through the power of Jesus.  For more information about New Community Bible Fellowship, visit our website at www.newcommunitybible.org.
