Job Description:

With an estimated 412 million people in India who have never heard of Jesus Christ, the fields are ripe for harvest.  Mission India is?transforming India?through church planting, adult literacy, and Children’s Bible Club programs.  We are seeking a visionary leader who has experience raising funds and leading a fundraising team and is open to actively seek alternate methods of fundraising and communication.  We are highly focused on accountability and delivering great results in our Ministry.   

 

We are currently seeking a Vice President of Development to lead the Development team that is responsible for major donors, grant writing, and related development activities in the USA.  This position, answering to the President, serves on the executive leadership team.  Critical to this role is the ability to develop and implement donor development strategies through a team that are comprehensive and contemporary with today’s donors and communication trends and provide oversight and development of key staff throughout the USA. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Cast Vision - create, lead and implement a Relationship Development strategy that delivers measurable outcomes regarding acquiring, retaining, and upgrading major donors 
  • Assess all fundraising ministries and personnel and make strategic growth recommendations 
  • Achieve donated income objectives 
  • Secure financial resources from an assigned donor list
  • Work as part of an executive team to develop a Marketing strategy to ensure clear and strategic communication of Mission India’s accomplishments and needs 
  • Play a key role in helping to determine corporate strategies and achieve strategic goals 
  • Encourage, coach and assess Regional Directors in their role and ministry results 
  • Recruit Development staff  
  • Develop a Regional Directors in-house training program 
  • Provide oversight to Partner Relations Associate Manager and Sr. Grants Manager
  • Position typically travels 70-90 days per year 

Successful Candidates will have the following qualifications: 

  • Proven self-starter and sustainability capacity to accomplish the roles of the position 
  • Belief in the Great Commission and can articulate this well, relationship building skills, excellent communication skills, a high degree of initiative, and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals 
  • Previous non-profit or philanthropic organization experience is strongly preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years of proven fundraising experience for a non-profit organization, sales/territory management experience, and at least five years of working with high net worth individuals 
  • Must be Christian, have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and agree to Mission India’s Statement of Faith 
  • Right to work in the US without sponsorship
