Job Description:

DOOR International, an international faith-based organization serving the Deaf (one of the largest unreached people groups in the world), is seeking applications for a Director of Administrative Operations position in its main office in Zeeland, MI. The position will have four main responsibilities:

  • Oversight of finances and expenditures, including budgeting, expense reporting, and auditing processes (~50%);
  • Oversight of the human resource needs of the organization, including onboarding of new staff and missionaries, benefits, and coordination of missionaries in the field (~30%);
  • Oversight of the global IT needs of the organization, including coordinating with IT personnel at both translation center campuses and with partner organizations (~10%); and
  • Oversight of the Zeeland, MI office and two staff (~10%).

This position is expected to guide the everyday operations in these areas, as well as to plan strategically for future needs in these areas. It is a unique position, in that it requires the precision and attention to detail typically associated with finances, excellent people skills to interact with our staff (both domestic and abroad), and the ability to plan strategically to prepare for the future needs of our growing organization.

 

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to Jesus Christ, have excellent communication skills, interpersonal and intercultural competency, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, strong problem solving skills, and reliability and confidentiality. Candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). As DOOR International is a ministry to the Deaf, with Deaf leaders serving the ministry in various capacities, the ideal candidate will have fluency in a sign language, but this is not a requirement for the position. There is a cross-cultural component to this position, as some staff are internationals and/or Deaf.

             Office Hours: M-F 8 am to 4:30 pm

DOOR International is an international non-profit organization that assists Deaf communities worldwide in translation of the Bible into various sign languages, as well as training of Deaf leaders in evangelism and church planting.
