Position: Spiritual Life Director, Begins August 2016
Position Description:
The purpose of this position is to initiate, develop and teach 3-4 courses in the critical areas of Apologetics and Christian life calling and purpose. In addition to these courses being taught, developing a thoughtful and thorough plan to develop student
leaders through a student mentoring program, while leading innovative evangelism strategies and venues for students to participate in.
Major Responsibilities
- Be prepared to effectively develop curriculum for and teach high school Bible/Christian Life classes
- Be prepared to effectively teach a practical Christian life calling and purpose class
- This class will examine the purpose of life and how to make better decisions effecting all areas of life
- This class will train students to be stronger and more equipped leaders within a Christian Worldview of life
- This class will empower students to impact their world through an understanding of their unique God given gifts
- Under the direction of the administration, identify and help promote the spiritual formation of the High School student body
- Develop and oversee the chapel program, mission trips and annual retreat
- Be involved and help lead student leadership and mentoring initiatives
- Develop and track High School student-service and/or ministry hours, including placing students out and into the community
- Develop and facilitate student mentoring and discipleship strategies including, but not limited to, the following:
- Small group mentorship and discipleship
- One-on-one mentorship and discipleship
- Great Commission training and opportunities
- Strong resource for teachers in the area of developing devotionals and themes
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a committed follower of Christ and an active member of an evangelical church
- Master’s degree preferred in related field(s); Bachelor’s considered with strong gifts
- Experience in school environment, and in a related field
- Ability to create, plan, and effectively carryout strategies related to school wide spiritual growth
- Ability to cultivate strong, appropriate relationships with students as well as adults
