The Leawood Campus of Christ Community, a multisite church in Kansas City is searching for a pastor of Children’s Ministries. This person is an educator and creative event planner with a pastor’s heart. This gospel-centered work is family-based but kid-focused: caring for the needs of parents and children, willing to journey with them in the ups and downs of family life and spiritual needs beyond what takes place on Sunday mornings.
This role requires an interest in child development and age-appropriate learning, connecting activities, language, and concepts best suited for each age group to learn about Jesus and understand the gospel. Creativity is needed for events outside of Sunday programming, providing space for the entire family to learn about the love of Jesus, celebrate, and worship.
This high-impact leadership role requires a strong communicator, fast thinker, and flexible but confident decision-maker who believes the well-being and safety of the children and ministry team are of utmost importance.
Serving children, parents, and volunteers must be the highest priority, with direct reports and volunteers looking to them for care, guidance, and leadership. They must love shepherding children and families and empowering staff and volunteers; a leader ready to work with and through teams, understanding that this work is not done alone.

Christ Community is a multi-site, intergenerational congregation located in the Kansas City area and a member of the Evangelical Free Church of America. The Leawood Campus is the original campus for Christ Community (now with five campuses) and currently engages around 800 on Sunday mornings (total attendance at all sites is approximately 2100).
