The Operations Manager contributes to the achievement of Suburban's mission, vision and goals by overseeing the church’s operations, administration, finances, and human resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing operational aspects of the organization, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effectively to meet organizational goals.
In this role, you will be the backbone of the organization, supervising multiple staff members and working closely with the Lead Pastor, staff, Elders, church members and third-party vendors.
This position will also provide significant support to Noah’s Ark, Suburban’s preschool and daycare, by consulting with their director on business functions and providing HR and financial oversight and analysis to them as needed.
Beyond the Operational functions, which should not normally take 40 hours per week, this full-time role also has time that can be used to help lead a ministry area (e.g. small groups, women’s or men’s minstry, etc) based on the gifting, experience and interest of the candidate who is hired.
The staff has a close-knit culture in which we place a high priority on communication, recognition, and collaboration, so we are looking for a relationship-based leader who has the demonstrated ability to lead staff, coordinate resources, and provide oversight. In this role you will have opportunities to suggest improvements to our processes and help align staff and volunteer resources effectively.

Suburban is focused on helping people meet Jesus and become Fully Alive in Him. We do this by encouraging everyone we meet to take steps to grow in their relationship with Christ, connect with the local church, and serve the community around them. Curently we have eight full-time employees and a number of part-time employees on the church staff as well as another dozen staff members who run our day care and preschool. We recently entered into a partnership with a Christian co-ed dorm that is providing ways for us to reach out to Oregon State students. A typical week sees our church building used by growing children's and youth programs, adult small groups and studies, and a number of ministries that reach out to our local community.
Suburban is located in the heart of the Willamette Valley--one of the most beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest. Corvallis, the home of Oregon State University, has the advantages of a smaller town while enjoying the resources, programs, and activities that the university brings. We're an hour away from Oregon's beautiful coast and an hour away from the Cascade mountains.
