Join Our Team as Youth Pastor at McCook E-Free
Position: Youth Pastor Location: McCook, Nebraska
Passionate about youth ministry and making a lasting impact in a rural community?
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Youth Pastor to lead and coordinate the youth ministry at McCook E-Free. This role is perfect for someone who loves discipling young people and is committed to fulfilling our church’s mission and vision through youth engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Youth Discipleship:
- Lead the discipleship of all youth and oversee the children’s discipleship across McCook E-Free campuses.
- Develop and implement a long-term discipleship strategy for Junior High (6th-8th grades) and High School (9th-12th grades) youth.
- Establish annual goals and plans to support the youth ministry strategy.
Youth Activities:
- Plan and oversee all youth programs, including delivering biblically-based messages at gatherings, organizing retreats, mission trips, and special events.
- Provide or arrange leadership for youth activities in your absence.
Coordination and Oversight:
- Oversee the Children’s Ministry Director and coordinate cohesive discipleship strategies from birth through high school.
- Equip families to make disciples within their homes.
- Work with staff to design and implement program strategies.
Community Engagement:
- Provide spiritual counsel and personal outreach to youth, fostering Christ-likeness.
- Lead a Youth Mission trip at least biennially.
- Participate in children’s outreach ministries to build relationships with future youth and their families.
Volunteer Management:
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteer youth workers.
- Develop student leadership through training and personal discipleship.
- Maintain communication with parents and congregation members for feedback and support.
Administrative Duties:
- Monitor and propose changes to the youth budget.
- Track attendance and follow up on all students.
- Assist with other ministry needs as requested by the Senior Pastor.
- Maintain a visible presence in the community and schools.
General Ministry Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in collaborative meetings.
- Engage in administrative work associated with the ministry.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.

- Youth Advocate: Heart for youth/children and passionate about discipleship.
- Biblically Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of the Bible and excellent communication skills.
- Prayerful Leader: Effective prayer life and strong relational skills.
- Rural Culture Embrace: Understand and connect with rural community dynamics.
- People-Oriented: Great with people and enjoys building relationships.
- Empathetic and Caring: Provide compassionate care and support.
- Leadership Developer: Train and nurture future leaders.
- Flexible Team Player: Adaptable, collaborative, and communicative.
Must-Haves:
- Spiritual Health: Meet Elder qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-7).
- Family Dynamics: Evidence of a healthy marriage and family life, if applicable.
- Financial Stability: Properly manage personal finances.
- Physical Health: Maintain a level of health that supports ministry work.
- Doctrinal Alignment: Agree with our doctrinal statement.
- Education: Minimum two years of post-high school education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Married with school-aged children.
- Formal Bible education or seminary degree.
- Previous pastoral experience.
Accountability:
- Report directly to the Senior Pastor.
- Annual review by the Senior Pastor and two Elders.
